Maria Jeona Zoleta (also known as microsluts and extreme.meth.in.my.bloodstream) is a Filipino visual artist based in Manila. She holds a BFA in Painting from the University of the Philippines. Her practice moves between painting, sculpture, soft sculpture and textiles, installation, performance and artist books. At its core, her painting is about procreation and pollution, exploring bodies, desire and reproduction in a world that is drowning in its own waste, through a lens of post-feminist sexuality in the age of virtual reality.
Zoleta lived has held artist residencies in NYC (2012), Singapore (2013), Adelaide, South Australia(2014) and Bielefeld, Germany(2025). In South Africa (2017) she worked as a research assistant studying drought and invasive species, an experience that feeds her ecological imagery. She co-runs Bizarre Bookstore, a Tokyo–Manila publishing and nomadic bookshop project, runs the small press Possessed Planets, and founded POSSESSED!, a nomadic artist-run space for workshops, performance and independent publishing. Her books have been shown at the Tokyo Art Book Fair, Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair, Paris Ass Book Fair, Taipei Art Book Fair, MissRead and Indiecon Art Bookfair.
